“In Case You Haven’t Noticed, Mom, Dad, There’s an Apocalypse Going on Right Now!”
by nielskunze on January 9, 2015
Parents are beside themselves, wondering if their twenty-something children will ever move out on their own. And the kids themselves…? They just shrug; they don’t have the answer.
Some can’t get a job; nothing interests them. Others get plenty of jobs but can’t keep them for more than a few days; they get easily bored or distracted. “What’s the matter with youth these days!” I hear exasperated parents moan.
It’s the apocalypse, stupid! (Sorry about the ‘stupid’ bit; I know not everybody’s on the same apocalyptic page… yet.)
I keep seeing it, but then my eyes are biased. It was the same for me thirty years ago when I was still a teenager. Youth is in a dilemma. The older generations, parents and grandparents, just can’t understand why it’s so hard for these kids to go out and do exactly as they did, to make their own way in the world. “Shut up; get a haircut, and get a job!”
The world is in transition– the most significant transition in the history of modern civilization. The old systems– you know, the ones with the jobs– are disintegrating… visibly. The old world was built upon unsustainable systems. The global economy among industrialized nations has always tacitly depended upon growth, expanding markets, in order to remain robust or even viable. We have reached the limit of growth necessary to sustain the former middle class. It’s all falling apart… but only to the eyes which see.
The older generations are in denial. Most are just waiting for world conditions to return to normal– waiting since about 2008. It’s seven years later, and despite the blatant propaganda of western governments, conditions are not improving; they are getting markedly worse. The Beast is dying, but it’s the only beast they’ve ever known, so to accept its demise is rather unconscionable.
Our twenty-something youth, and those coming after, may not consciously know it, but at a deeper level, what I would call the soul level, they absolutely know that the old ways are disintegrating; it’s visible to their inner eye. With this kind of knowing, even though they may never put it into conscious words, how can they be expected to embrace a dying system? “Why should I invest my time and energy– my future— into that which is collapsing?” It’s a fair question, once we force it into conscious view.
I already had the same view thirty years ago. (I am a Pleiadian starseed crystal child; and if that makes you uncomfortable, go ahead, roll your eyes and ignore it.) I always viewed our version of civilization as the World-Devouring Machine. I could never, in good conscience, merely acquiesce to aligning myself with that. Now we have a whole generation which finds itself occupying the very same view– if only unconsciously. They’re stuck in a kind of inertial limbo. They don’t know what to do.
Despite their ornery rebelliousness, youth does look for appropriate guidance– something beyond the common refrain “Shut up; get a haircut, and find a job already!” The New Renaissance, the New Civilization, hasn’t emerged yet. Nowhere in the mainstream is it visible. Assuredly there are glimpses in the margins, at the periphery, but the average kid, especially those from more traditional, conservative families, aren’t typically directed to look there. That’s where the flakes and kooks– like me– hang out!
The old world is not coming back. Evolution does not move backwards. The familiar conditions of generations are gone… for good. In these tricky times, it’s important to acknowledge and understand that.
I see this situation of ‘inertial limbo’ everywhere– even in my own family. It’s tough on everyone, and it’s going to get even tougher. We’ll have to be very patient with each other as we get through this difficult birth.
I hope that what I’ve written here today may serve in some small way to ease the tensions in families the world over.
Message To/From the TOURS #25 The Other Side of the Co(i)n
by nielskunze on January 7, 2015
This brief message is in response to the realization that I had been previously fixated upon an unbalanced view. (Thank you Andrew Bartzis for your thorough presentation on Mystery Schools.)
The timeline which I presented last year that follows an archetypal journey through the major arcana of the traditional tarot lands us in the year of The Devil this 2015. Specifically, I have emphasized that this will be a year focused on unmasking The Devil. The Devil’s keyword is trickery. This is when we get to find out all the wonderful ways in which we’ve been deceived for generations by those who promised to serve our best interests. Personally, my focus has been nearly exclusively placed upon all the unsavory schmutz and drek that needs to be exposed. What I had utterly forgotten was that all of the positive esoteric and occult teachings would be revealed too.
The world has been run from behind the scenes, outside of public scrutiny, by various secret factions for centuries. Specifically, these factions are referred to as mystery schools. All mystery schools contain within their teachings and objectives both the Light and the Dark; it has been impossible for them to be exclusively one or the other; that was their agreement with the planetary Mother– their contract to exist here.
It’s interesting that as the truth comes to light– inevitably– I was so fixated upon only the darkness, as though there was nothing positive to be revealed in the process. I am reminded of a wonderful example of where a centuries-old mystery school was taken from utter secrecy and deposited within the baffled hands of an unsuspecting public. I am referring to the work of Carlos Castaneda, his revelation of the Toltec (not mesoamerican) tradition of ancient sorcery. Here we have a perfect example of mystery school teachings coming fully to light in both their empowerment potential and their dark permutations. With all which stands to be revealed in the coming year and beyond, it will be essential to remember that ‘good’ and ‘bad’ can only exist in balance within unveiled truth.
Furthermore, the instruction for the Team Of United Renegade Sovereigns is to consciously focus upon the positive in order to give the world the balance it needs in these challenging times. Most of us have known at least in principle of the nasties soon to be revealed for quite some time already. Our task now is not to sit back and say “I told you so” to a stunned populace– not even once. We are to focus instead upon the knowledge gleaned and employ it in constructive and creative ways. Now is the time for envisioning the future. As the old structures come unglued and begin to crumble, the most progressive among us must step to the fore in order to illustrate the endless opportunities inherent in this crisis. Many have already been doing that. Keep going.
When we build the future, first in our imaginations, based upon all the best of our knowledge and experience, working out how a sane and balanced society might look and function, we are very effectively inserting that vision within the collective mind. So when about two thirds of the world’s population thinks for a moment that it is assuredly witnessing an unstoppable armageddon, the remaining third can calmly say “No, look here. We are merely clearing the way for a better world. Let go of that which is dying, and embrace the magnificence of what now rises in its stead.” We have to have something to show for it– for such seemingly arrogant proclamations.
Now is the time to work out how the New Earth will look. Place yourself within it; it’s already there in your imagination, waiting to be animated by your knowledge and infinite compassion. Don’t be lured in by the death throes of the dark; turn away and build tomorrow right now. It is time.
Mystical Masters Collaboration for the Week of December 31 to January 6, 2015

I was all set to write something about the Pleiades– I’m a Taurus, after all– something about our galactic progenitors, one of the seed tillers of our ancestry. I even sleep beneath a depiction of the Seven Sisters I painted on my wall ten years ago…
But then the Ancient One in me said “Nah! Tell this other one instead.”
Okay.
The Most Ancient, The Most Sacred
Even before the voice of the announcer came over the radio to say that the King was dead, I had been holding back a flood of tears. I was already devastated; my heart was torn. And now the King was dead too. I knew it was a big deal.
Damn right it was a big deal!
This story properly begins two weeks previously.
I was sitting excitedly in the back seat beside my older brother in the family car. My Mom was in the passenger seat as Dad drove. We were on a crazy mountain dirt road, climbing through thick cedar and hemlock forest. It was the kind of backcountry road that hinted strongly that four-wheel-drive and high suspension might be preferred. We had neither. By the way my Dad was cringing and swearing with every bump and scrape along the bottom of the car, you’d think that the road had actually busted out the side window and was now pummeling him in the face. We knew to keep quiet and just hope that Dad would keep on going.
We were getting near to my favourite spot in the whole world!
Tucked away in a remote spot high upon a forested mountain, near Ainsworth Hot Springs, there is a tiny little lake. We knew it as Loon Lake; I’m sure there are many “Loon Lakes” in just BC. This was our Loon Lake. Or rather, it ‘belonged’ to our friends and neighbours from back home in Calgary. They had been spending their summers here.
We made it! Dad parked the car and we all sprang out. I think Dad got down on his knees to see if anything was dangling beneath the car in any sort of suspicious manner, as we dashed off to the lake.
It was right there. Just down a little steep embankment, there was the lake! It was narrow and long, with a swamp at either end, making it nearly impossible to walk around to the other side. We looked across to the other side where a few small boats were tied up at our friends’ dock– the only dock. This was pretty much their own private lake.
My Mom did her little distinctive yell across the lake to announce our safe arrival. We were immediately answered by a copycat yell and the launch of the rowboat to ferry us across. And that was shortly followed by the tandem kayak, piloted by my brother’s best friend. My childhood best friend and near constant companion was on the other side, waiting, along with his two younger sisters.
Their rather modest summer home was an old one-room log cabin, to which they eventually added a loft. There was no electricity, no running water; there was an outhouse located thirty meters up from the cabin. They were a family of six, and we were a family of four… one room and a loft, that’s cozy.
Fortunately, my parents and my brother weren’t staying long, just a few days. And when they left, they took along my brother’s best friend too. Perfect. I was being left with my best friend at their private lake for two glorious weeks!
I was eleven, a big kid for my age. Of course I didn’t know it at the time, but this was the last hurrah for my fleeting innocence, my childhood’s end. I can laughingly look back on those weeks now and look upon them as the reward for a childhood well lived. I was a good kid; I deserved this!
We swam; we camped; we fished. We took the kayak into the swamp to catch snakes. I learned how to sail the little sailboat to the island at the other end of the lake. I snorkeled for the first time and noticed that fish are about as fast as lightning when you go to grab them. We gathered three abandoned rafts from their wilderness moorings around the lake– the products of former generations, perhaps the previous owners of the cabin. We tied the three rafts together into a long narrow barge and struggled like sons-of-bitches to maneuver our contraption, whether paddling or swimming in tow, or just going with the wind and trying not to care where we’d end up. We filled the rubber dingy with lake water and then populated it with frogs and minnows; we had our own little aquarium. We had stories read to us by kerosene lantern. We had bonfires and roasted everything. We had no agendas; we made it all up as ideas came to mind. “Hey, let’s go do this!” Okay.
Can you imagine? Have you lived it? It was the most perfect time. It was life at its most natural easy grace. People tell me I have a terrific imagination. Well, I have never imagined anything better than those two weeks spent at Loon Lake. I can’t improve on that… and I didn’t have to do anything; it was just given to me, an infinite gift… sacred space enlivened by the most ancient of all– untrammeled nature, the first civilization… and I belonged, gloriously!
And when those two weeks ended, I found myself an eleven-year-old boy traveling by himself, right up at the front of the Greyhound, right behind the driver. His shitty little radio was perched atop the dash, spewing the news of the century… again. This time, the King was dead. Big deal. Stupid Elvis!
Meanwhile, my heart was stretched all the way back to Loon Lake, behind us, well beyond the scary back of the bus. Children’s hearts are elastic, but I knew that eventually I’d have to let go.
I wanted to cry; I wasn’t even sure that I knew why. A few people made their way up to the front of the bus. They looked like they wanted to cry too. “Is it true about Elvis?” they asked the driver.
It was true; something had ended. We all wanted to cry.
But I had a treasure tucked away. I was eleven years old, and I KNEW I had lived.

The Daily Forest Report January 6, 2015 “Release the Hounds!”
by nielskunze on January 6, 2015
“What the hell is that guy doing?” I was pretty much talking to myself, as the three dogs were in the back of the truck; I was in the cab alone.
We had just passed the hoodoos. It was a big truck, driving very slowly in the shoulder of the highway. I needed to turn off just up ahead and I didn’t want to cut him off, especially in these winter driving conditions. As I hurried past him, I noticed that the back of his enormous pickup was filled with some strange structure, and a few dog heads were sticking out of it. Apparently this was a dog team.
“Oh great, just what I need.”
I parked at my parents’ house as per usual, since their driveway tends to be meticulously shovelled and I won’t get stuck. As soon as I unloaded the dogs from my little pickup, we could already hear the steady baying of the hounds over by the river where we’d just passed the other truck. For whatever purpose, they too had been unloaded, and they were already engaged in carrying out their task.
The beginning portion of our daily walk initially takes us away from the river valley. Both myself and my dogs were happy to be headed in the opposite direction from whatever drama was unfolding behind us. After last year’s several incidents as documented in these Daily Reports, I quickly concluded that this was another cougar hunt. When Sitka was still a fairly small puppy, the two of us had been already deep in the woods when we heard the very same baying of the hounds. It took me a few minutes to figure out that we were hearing a cougar hunt in progress, and then I immediately became nervous at the prospect of encountering a pack of hunting dogs with my new little puppy. Of course, it hadn’t occurred to me– or to Sitka for that matter– that we would encounter the cougar instead. That was Sitka’s official initiation into the Forest Life… one year previous. A stunningly magnificent cat leapt over Sitka just a few feet behind me, and we both watched it bound away effortlessly through the trees. For the rest of that walk I kept muttering to myself “Did that really just happen??”
As we made our way along the initial ascent, this time a group of four– myself and three dogs– we kept encountering odd footprints in the very fresh snow criss-crossing the path… and all the while dogs baying in the distance. The prints were human; it was only ten in the morning. They were all over the place, except on the path where you might expect them. It was quite obvious that somebody was either chasing or being chased… all over the snowy mountainous terrain! We continued on… cautiously.
When we reached the bench where the terrain levels out, the path turns toward the river valley. Even up here, the footprints zigzagged across our usual trail covering a great deal of territory and apparently scaling numerous barbwire fences. I has just pretty much concluded that there must be a fugitive on the loose when we (Sitka) discovered this…
It was a bit small to be from an adult cougar– though it had already been half eaten by Sitka. (What is it with puppies and cat poo?) Now I wasn’t sure at all what was going on. We continued on just a bit more.
Quickly, the hounds in the distance weren’t quite so distant anymore, and it sounded like they were coming straight for us! We immediately turned around and headed back down the mountainside. On the way down we heard sirens at the highway. Emergency vehicles were gathering somewhere near Dutch Creek. Okay, now I’m back to thinking “Fugitive.”
But I’m a curious fellow. Instead of heading back to the truck and cut our walk frustratingly short, I decided that we should make our way directly over toward the river where all the excitement seemed to be. Besides, suddenly, the baying of the hounds had ceased. The hunt was over… and I wanted the story.
Dutch Creek was scarcely in sight up ahead when we first heard human voices. They weren’t very far away. Then suddenly, through the trees, we could see a few dogs milling about. They were coming straight for us. I tried turning my crew around before the pack of hounds could overtake us… but to no avail.
Instantly we were surrounded by a pack of about ten dogs. They were all outfitted with radio transmitter collars. The first human attendee was all wired up with what appeared to be a CB radio mic strapped across his chest. He wasn’t very talkative as he merely expressed mild surprise at my presence there with my three dogs. The second human attendee, the older one, told me that they had just treed a cougar.
This had just been a practice run. There were a couple of young puppies amidst their crew who were just learning the ropes of a proper cougar hunt. Their dogs and my dogs got along just fine. Toby tried growling a few times to express her nervousness, but thought the better of it once she counted a full dozen dogs milling about.
So there you have it. It was another cougar hunt– though no cougar was shot this time. They just treed it for practice. The sirens had been a mere coincidence. The footprints all over the mountainside belonged to the younger less talkative guy. He must’ve gotten one hell of a workout! And at that moment he suddenly realized that he’d left his gun where they’d treed the cougar. I gave them directions back to their truck so they could resupply and then retrieve the gun.
Me and my dogs went back to our own truck, taking the back way. I was pleased. We had met up with the ‘dread pack’ of hunting dogs… and they were well-trained and perfectly amicable.
One last fear crossed off the list!
The Daily Forest Report January 4, 2015 A Lynx Named ‘Nicht Rechts’
by nielskunze on January 4, 2015
(Only German speakers will understand the joke in the title.)
It began a few days ago, down by the river at first. There were paw prints in the snow that were just a bit too big, running alongside the dog tracks from the previous days. The dogs themselves were intermittently curious about a new smell along the trail.
And then we found this curious spot just off the riverside trail. It looked as though a medium-sized animal had hunkered down in the underbrush to polish off a little snack– most likely a hare. A patch of snow was melted from its body heat, and small splashes of blood hinted at its activity.
I was already thinking cat because the paw prints which were intermingled with the dogs’ were rounder and slightly larger. Dog prints are more diamond-shaped, whereas cats tend to deposit more circular or oval prints.
During the ensuing days, we began to notice the very same prints all along our route, even well up above the river valley. Someone was keeping an eye on our activities in the forest.
This is the best track I could find in the fresh and very fluffy snow. Notice how its overall shape is nearly a perfect depiction of this textbook lynx print.
The other reason I settled upon lynx as opposed to bobcat is because, over the years, people in the area have reported seeing a lynx along the river which has been verified many times by the accompanying paw prints. A lynx is light grey, nearly white, in colour. When you see it, it is very distinctive.
The representation of Lynx as a totem animal is all about its ability to see through deception and obfuscation in order to effortlessly reveal what seemed to be so well hidden. Like Superman, Lynx has x-ray vision!
Secrets are tumbling out everywhere we care to look these days. Lynx energy assures us that this will continue until the very last secret is revealed.
We welcome Lynx on this sacred journey together!

(Nobody’s Hero by Rush from their 1993 album Counterparts)
“Let us continue with the distraction of hero-worship.”
Before we return to the River’s discourse, I thought I might provide a bit of context… for Beauty cannot be dissected… or rationalized.
As the River piles up ice and then proceeds to flow overtop, the emerald saturation of glacial silt makes it glow like an artist’s dipped brush, ready to cut new strokes in Creation’s pristine landscape…
Sometimes the water looks more like sky than icy pools…
“The hero stands outside, never believing that the inward direction could possibly be a real thing. The hero doesn’t know his true Source, so he imagines himself coming from worship and need.
“He claims to cut through the conflict, proclaiming the way forward to be narrow and perilous. He demands single-file followers; no one stands with him shoulder-to-shoulder; nothing is equal in a hero’s estimation. Everything is exceptional– an impossibility.
“But every hero’s quest is a channel cut from the collective dream, where no one is left to dream alone…
“And though the hero may speak to a strength in numbers, he understands virtually nothing of unity rooted in diversity– the true state of the unseen world. He stands alone in the barren landscape of frozen belief, mustering strength against the very thaw that might yet save him…
“The way is open… to those who walk hand-in-hand, hearts entwined… No heroes required.”
Aw… and I so wanted to be somebody’s hero!
Independently Healthy: A Quick Reference Guide
by nielskunze on January 2, 2015
Preface
Longstanding debates are almost always fruitless distractions. I’ve been meaning to compile the following list for awhile now, but it wasn’t until the tiresome ‘vaccine debate’ reared its ugly head again that I found the motivation to do so. A full treatment of my position on vaccines will is provided here: A Little Inoculation Against the Vaccine Distraction.
In the meantime, this list is my best answer to the question “We know that vaccines work, so why doesn’t everybody just voluntarily submit to them?” What the question doesn’t ask– and what needs to be asked– is “Are vaccines really the very best we can do?”
To me, true health is all about preventative medicine– and by ‘medicine’ I mean superb nutrition and lifestyle choices. When it comes to the ‘modern’ allopathic paradigm, vaccines are virtually the only tool in the preventative medicine toolkit. I find that situation to be tragically deplorable and utterly steeped in ignorance.
Before we get to the list, allow me to explain again why I choose the title “Independently Healthy” for these health briefings. The central and most important factor for superlative health– in my opinion and experience– is taking full responsibility for the state of our individual health status. Except in rare criminal circumstances, our own health is primarily our own responsibility. I may choose to consult professionals, solicit advice and research the experience of others, but ultimately, I alone am responsible for the state of my own health. That very attitude is central and essential to health (wholeness).
The list of nutritional and lifestyle choices and strategies which follows consists of those items from among literally hundreds of candidates which I have employed successfully in my own life over the past twenty years. I am currently 48 years old and am exceptionally pleased with my state of health… and these are what I attribute that to:
(I will flesh out brief descriptions for each of these and provide additional links in the coming days. They are currently listed in no particular order; I may change that shortly.)
List of Nutritional Elements and Therapeutic Strategies
Note: I generally take these items in very small amounts on an empty stomach. In so doing, they are readily absorbed very quickly with almost no energy expenditure required for digestion and assimilation.
Vitamin D (D3/K2/Magnesium transdermal patch): As far as immune functioning is concerned, vitamin D is like the basic fuel for the whole system. You can do everything else right, incorporating many or all of the items on this list, but if you’re vitamin D deficient, your immunity will still be compromised. Once this became widely understood in the last few years, many health practitioners and natural health advocates began recommending rather large daily doses of vitamin D, up to 10,000 IU per day. I’ve consistently opted for a range between 3,000 and 5,000 IU per day. It is possible to take too much vitamin D which causes excess calcium to be deposited in unwanted sites such as the arteries (atherosclerosis) and the joints (arthritis). Excess vitamin D will only cause such problems if there is a commensurate lack of vitamin K2 (obtained primarily from leafy greens and vegetable ferments). That’s why the new transdermal patches from Living Nutritionals are such a good idea. They also include a full dose of vitamin K2 and a 250mg dose of magnesium which is also essential to proper calcium metabolism. I’ve developed a preference for taking supplements transdermally (through the skin) because the body can then absorb the nutrients at the same rate that they can be utilized, whereas a singular oral dose may very well be wasteful and/or stressful to the digestive tract.
Vitamin B12: This is the other one that I opt for the transdermal patch, also from Living Nutritionals. A strong consideration favouring the patch is that any B12 taken orally requires an ample amount of gastric intrinsic factor, which is produced in the stomach, to combine with before later absorption in the small intestine. If one’s ability to produce ample intrinsic factor is compromised, so too is one’s ability to assimilate vitamin B12– despite proper diet and ample oral supplementation. The patch delivers B12 in its usable form directly to the bloodstream, bypassing the complications of digestion. Vitamin B12 is essential for energy regulation and sustenance. Frequent fatigue can be a sign of B12 deficiency, especially among longtime vegetarians.
Oceans Alive Marine Phytoplankton 2.0: This is the single most nutrient-dense food that I am currently aware of. The spectrum of nutrients contained in this precious liquid far exceeds the known parameters of nutrition known at this time. It contains many, many nutritional elements which we haven’t even begun to study yet. It is proven human-compatible and extraordinarily bioavailable. A single dropper full of this goodness contains more nutrition than even the healthiest conventional meal.
Coriander Seed Oil: Cold-pressed from Panaseeda, this special oil is the top recommendation for overall digestive health. It helps to repair the gut lining, dramatically improves nutrient absorption and efficiently removes heavy metals from the digestive tract. It tastes good too! Its ability to increase nutrient absorption makes it economically advisable; it will make everything else more efficient.
36-Hour Bone Broth: Any bones boiled continuously for 36 hours or more results in a soup which provides nutritive support for the healing of the gut, especially repairing permeability in instances of IBS and leaky gut. Boiling for long periods breaks down the bone into a bioavailable therapeutic agent indispensable to gastrointestinal healing. Large bones can be boiled again and again as they will continue to break down each successive round.
Fermented Vegetables: Homemade vegetable ferments like sauerkraut and kimchee provide enormous amounts of beneficial bacteria as well as conditioning the intestinal environment for improved digestion. Store-bought varieties which have been pasteurized are completely useless in this regard. Make your own; it’s so easy and enormously rewarding!
Pine Pollen: Just a half teaspoon per day of this delicious yellow powder provides dozens of hard-to-get nutrients, especially those required for hormonal health and balance. Continued use provides strength, energy and stamina. Highly recommended for athletes of all types.
Coffee Additive: Every time I make coffee I add 1 teaspoon of this magic powder to my coffee bodum. It doesn’t alter the taste; if anything, it enhances the flavour by bringing out the subtler aspects of coffee’s flavour profile.
Chaga – Ridiculously high in antioxidants and a well-renowned, well-researched immune-boosting polypore with thousands of years of traditional use in China backing it.
Reishi – Along with chaga, reishi is the jewel of chinese medicine, especially for immune function.
Green (unroasted) Coffee Beans – The nutritive elements which would otherwise be lost or negatively altered in the roasting process are hereby added back into the coffee equation. It tends to bring out subtle flavour aspects while making the coffee ‘creamier’ even without the addition of cream.
Milk Thistle Seed – Aids the liver in cleansing and especially repair.
Cacao Beans – A nutritional powerhouse including resveratrol that combines well with coffee’s natural flavour.
Moringa Leaf Powder: A branch from the tall, fast-growing tropical Moringa tree is pictured above. This is quite possibly the most nutritious of all plants, at least in terms of common, well-studied nutrients. I regard it merely as another handy nutrient-dense food that can deliver significant nourishment in a single spoonful. I like the taste of the dried powdered leaf; I liken it to unsalted corn chips.
Whole Lemon Lemonade: The peel and the pith of the common lemon contain an astonishing array of rather rare and precious nutrients. Place a quartered whole lemon in a blender; add 10 ounces of water (preferably distilled); if you like pulp, liquify and drink; if you don’t enjoy pulp, blend to chop– not liquify– and strain before drinking. I have never found the need to add sweetener. With pith and peel included, the flavour is well-balanced, slightly bitter, and yes, slightly sour… but comfortably so. I often combine a glass of this with (2T)hemp hearts, (1T)spirulina and (1T)chlorella as a very satisfying meal replacement. This can be done daily, indefinitely.
Hemp Hearts: These are shelled hemp seeds. They are high in quality proteins and have an excellent ratio of essential fatty acids. I think they’re yummy!
Spirulina: This is a blue-green algae. Good quality spirulina may contain up to 70% protein by weight. In comparison, good quality meat is about 30% protein– and that’s before you cook it (denaturing proteins). The proteins in algae are in a highly assimilable form, once their cell walls have been cracked. When we eat algae, our digestive organs hardly need to do a thing. It’s like the protein is pre-digested, just waiting to be absorbed. Algae does not agree with everybody though. Some people are made instantly violently ill with their first spoonful, so exercise caution, as always, when trying new foods.
Chlorella:: This is a green algae, as you may have guessed from the name. It’s slightly lower in protein, but is very high in chlorophyl. Chlorophyl is a proven safe and reliable detoxifier. With algae, a good quality source is important; don’t cheap out. If you do a cost-to-nutrient evaluation– what you actually get for your money– you will find that even good organic algae is very cost-effective.
Krill Oil: This is one of the few items on this list which actually looks like a regular supplement– although being an oil, it is actually a food. It comes in capliques which are sealed capsules to prevent oxidation. This is my primary source of high quality omega-3 and omega-6 essential fatty acids in a ratio favouring the omega-3s, bonded to phospholipids. Animal sources of EFAs also include the meganutrients EPA and DHA. Krill oil also includes a significant portion of astaxanthin. EFAs are essential for proper cognitive function.
Astaxanthin: This is a specialized supplement that I only really use when I know I’m in for a real physical workout. This is the red substance which give salmon meat its pink colour. It is also primarily responsible for granting salmon their superhero strength during their spawning migrations. Astaxanthin helps the body to regulate lactic acid metabolism in order to prevent its excessive buildup in muscles during strenuous and prolonged use.
Ubiquinol: This is my only other ‘regular’ supplement. Ubiquinol is the reduced version of CoQ10, the essential heart nutrient and mitochondrial food for sustained cellular energy. Persons under the age of 35 are fine just taking a regular CoQ10 supplement, but once we’re 35 and older our bodies have difficulty reducing CoQ10 to its bioavailable form– which is ubiquinol. I take it most days.
Systemic (Metabolic) Enzymes: The most common brand names of these types of enzymes are Vitalzym and Wobenzym. Of the two, I prefer Wobenzym, as it seems that Vitalzym changed its formulation in recent years which rendered it less effective in my opinion. Enzymes are the main reason people turn to raw foods in their dietary choices. All enzymes are destroyed by the heat of cooking. All natural (unprocessed) foods are created by nature with all of the appropriate enzymes included for the complete breakdown of those foods into their basic nutritive parts. Systemic enzymes are known to initiate enzyme cascades within the body, producing literally hundreds of different enzymes which are able to aid in digestion, inflammation (pain) control, blood cleansing, scar tissue removal, and other nifty benefits. I only use them occasionally, usually when I’m experiencing prolonged pain, when I’m injured, or when I’m initiating a deep cleansing program.
Digestive Enzymes: These are pretty straightforward. When digestion is sluggish or otherwise impaired, digestive enzymes are taken with meals in order to aid in the breakdown and assimilation of the foods eaten. They typically contain the the same enzymes produced in and by our digestive organs and are used simply as an aid.
Nascent Iodine: Iodine is the main nutrient contributing to proper thyroid function. The thyroid is the primary metabolic regulator within the endocrine system. It is also essential for proper immune function. Although most people are deficient in iodine, it is also possible to have too much iodine. Fortunately, high quality nascent iodine (monoatomic) can be applied directly on the skin– it will cause an orange stain. By timing how long it takes your body to draw in the iodine through your skin you can determine your specific state of deficiency/sufficiency. If the stain, consisting of 3 drops of nascent iodine, disappears from view in less than 4 hours, it almost certain that you are iodine deficient, as the body ‘hungrily’ draws it in. If it takes longer than 12 hours for the stain to disappear, then you’re good on iodine. I always have iodine on hand, and I test myself every few weeks and dose accordingly.
Quintessential Optimum Mineralization 3.3: This is the best product that I am aware of for fully remineralizing the body, including all of the trace elements. Before my initial introduction to this product, I was always somewhat hungry. Even if I’d just stuffed myself with a great meal and I had to open the top button on my pants, I would still feel slightly hungry. There was always a subtle hunger that would never go away, that is, until I discovered Quintessential. This is one of those products that I could tell from the very first dose that it was helping me in a profound way. After a 3-month program of using it daily, I noticed that my hunger went away for the first time in my life. In fact, I often felt so satisfied and content after my remineralization program that I skipped many meals, even going on a 4-day impromptu fast because I just simply wasn’t hungry. What a wonderful experience that was! I recommend this product for absolutely everyone.
Kratom: Ah kratom– mitragyna speciosa– my favourite herb of all time! (Okay, maybe it’s tied with cannabis.) I’ve referred to kratom in the past as ‘the herb of gladness and ease.’ It is a deciduous tree in the coffee family; kratom is specifically the dried and powdered leaves from mature mitragyna trees which are indigenous to places like Thailand, Bali, Vietnam and the likes. In its native land, kratom is used extensively by the locals and has a long history of continuous use. Some estimates claim that up to 70% of Thailand’s population uses kratom very much like westerners use coffee. Now, I’m a real coffee-lover, but kratom’s a whole other thing! I must point out though, that kratom is not really physically nutritious; it rather feeds the emotional/mental nature, bringing a calm but energized focus and a general relaxation to the body without inducing lethargy. It’s very pleasant. During mild forms of exercise, like walking or canoeing for instance, kratom’s 4- to 5-hour effect is muchly appreciated. It is also used for the management of chronic pain, as it is an analgesic. In Canada, my recommended source for kratom is Galactic Botanicals. In the US, I Am Shaman is a good choice. They lack a bit in variety, but the quality is always assured. (Note: sellers of kratom in North America refer to it as though it is an ingredient for making incense; they describe kratom’s effects as producing certain ‘aromas.’ This is for absurd legal reasons; I know of no one who makes incense from kratom.)
Baking Soda: This is one of those substances which the body can always put to good use. I’ve been brushing my teeth with baking soda and soap for years now; I gave up toothpaste around the turn of the millennium. I’ve recently begun using baking soda as my primary shampoo too. Just put a tablespoon or two of baking soda in a jar. Fill the jar with water and shake to dissolve. Massage the soda liquid into the hair and scalp just like a shampoo. It doesn’t foam, but it cuts grease well. Another reason why I like baking soda is that it’s an energy-cleansing substance too. Baking soda neutralizes toxic energies lodged in the body just as surely as it neutralizes acids. Also of interest is that baking soda saw wide use about a hundred years ago among allopathic doctors and their patients as a preventative and remedy for colds and flu. A half teaspoon dissolved in water is the typical dose. When fighting an active infection (cold or flu), six doses should be taken per day for two days with at least two hours between doses, and thereafter the treatment should be reduced to just two doses per day, once in the morning and once in the evening until the infection clears. As a preventative, one or two doses a day should be sufficient.
Hydrogen Peroxide: Here’s another substance that isn’t exactly nutritive, but it’s very useful to the body nevertheless. Most are at least familiar with hydrogen peroxide as a topical antiseptic. It has so many beneficial uses that books have elaborated the topic for ages. Due to its highly reactive nature, caution is always advised, especially when used internally (food grade only). One use I’ve employed for at least the last dozen years is peroxiding my ears (rhyme unintended). With an eyedropper, I fill one ear at a time with a 2 to 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide, as I tilt my head ninety degrees. It takes two full droppers to fill each ear. If it’s bubbling, it’s cleaning, neutralizing; and you can definitely hear it. Just note that sometimes it takes a moment for the bubbling to begin as some of the earwax begins to dissolve and expose the reactive nasties trapped inside. There is usually a beginning acceleration to the bubbling, followed by a sustained plateau, and a lingering slowdown. I peroxide my ears about once every two weeks; having clean ears is nice! Anytime the ears are actively discharging or mildly infected, cleaning can be stepped up to once per day. I’ve spent up to 10 months peroxiding my ears daily during the initial purge associated with frequent time spent in the saline of the sensory deprivation tank… in my room. I learned the significance of the phrase “’til it comes out your ears.” And if you’re ever caught with a stuffy head cold, the ear treatment can provide tremendous relief. It’s definitely something worth researching anyway.
Ozonated Oils (Sold as ointments and deodorants): These things are fricken miracles! It’s important though that these oils are prepared with medical grade ozone, as opposed to any ozone generated directly from ambient air. Ozone infused oils can help treat, um, everything. You can even eat them. (I had to try; that’s just who I am.) Don’t be willing to put anything on your skin you’re not willing to eat. Oxygen therapies are worth looking into. The name Ed McCabe comes to mind; searchable. I even saw a commercial recently on mainstream, prime time TV for a clinic providing hyperbaric oxygen therapy. As far as these oils go, I’ve used an ozonated jojoba oil (unscented, but a strong smell of ozone) sold as a facial cream, and an ozone infused olive oil with added cinnamon oil sold as a deodorant; it works fabulously well in that regard among myriad uses. (That’s the one I ate.)
Cacao & Coconut Oil Body Butter: Ever since my youth when I was a competitive swimmer suffering from chronic dry skin I’ve been a voracious consumer of skin lotions… until I started making my own. I make mine about two-thirds coconut oil and one-third cacao butter. And to make it soft enough to apply as a body butter I add a fraction of rose hip seed oil– the more oil added, the softer the butter… and the less like a coconut chocolate bar it smells and tastes though. Yes, of course you can eat my body butter; I’ve even taken a spoon to mine before. Excellent emergency food! The first few times I applied it, it seemed greasy, taking a long time to absorb. But after a time of continued use, my skin learned that there were useable nutrients in this new lotion; Now my skin drinks it in immediately.
Magnesium ‘Oil’: Magnesium is widely considered the Master Mineral. It is central and essential to proper energy production (ATP), regulating calcium in the body, is required in over 330 enzymatic reactions crucial to proper metabolism, and is indispensable to proper sleep and muscle relation. We are all deficient! Magnesium repletion is achieved with the use of a topical spray. Please see my in depth analysis of this essential element in my recent article: Elemental Repletion (written originally for the Mystical Masters FB group.)
Pascalite Clay: A pinkish calcium-bentonite (Montmorillonite) that I usually use only when I’ve got an upset in my gastrointestinal tract. It almost always relieves anything resembling nausea, when a physical cause needs to be neutralized and eliminated. (It may also have a psychic cleansing effect.) It also makes a good additive to homemade toothpaste, promoting healthy oral microflora (by neutralizing the nasties). It can also be applied externally to good antiseptic effect, and is generally beneficial to the skin in scrubs and mud-packs. I just feel good about always having some around whenever anyone complains about a tummy ache; it’s the first thing I think to offer, and is nearly always effective. (It reminds me of hurtloam in the Thomas Covenant series.)

Story of the Year for 2014
by nielskunze on December 31, 2014
I was asked for my pick of the most impactful story of the year. On this last day of 2014 it seems appropriate to share my answer. (I wanted to wait until the last day because so much is currently happening that an even bigger story could emerge at any moment.)
So my choice is Gordon Duff’s recent historic address in Damascus concerning world security matters to officials from sixty-eight countries. Please click HERE for the full article including video footage and followup interviews.
For the first time, publicly, in an international setting, the senior editors of Veterans Today explained to the representatives of security forces assembled that the problem of terrorism and its threat to world security is actually the covert machinations of a pervasive and truly massive criminal organization spanning virtually all national governments. Terrorism is not the inevitable result of religious fanatics and zealots; it is rather the manufactured, politically-expedient, ever-present threat funded and controlled by an international organized crime syndicate covertly embedded within national governments and global industry.
Once we let go of the idea that the precarious and insane state of world affairs is merely the result of gross incompetence and that it is instead the deliberate result of intentional corruption at the highest levels, then the news actually begins to make some sense. The international crime mob known primarily as The Cabal is a premise which I adopted way back in 2011. The evidence certainly has pointed to something more than mere incompetence as being the root of our current state of chaotic depravity for a very long time. Now that the real problem has been identified to the principal players in the ongoing manufactured conflict, for the first time they can organize themselves in such a way as to take appropriate countermeasures.
In my opinion, this really is a game-changer. As always, we shall see.
The Daily Forest Report December 30, 2014 Ice River Winter-Speak
by nielskunze on December 30, 2014
Hi! We’re back. After an unplanned weeklong hiatus, we’re ready to resume ‘work.’ And by ‘us’ I mean me and the dogs; they’re always rarin’ to go!
Well, it’s officially winter now, and the views are spectacular! And for those not overly familiar with winter’s quirks, just know that the brighter and sunnier it is, the colder it tends to be!
Conversely, it’s the overcast days that hold the heat and give us a mild respite.
There have been some wild temperature fluctuations which have recently caused the River to become more chatty.
Filtered through one lens of perception, the River’s discourse can seem catastrophic; filtered through another, it is sublimely beautiful.
“The words ‘creative’ and ‘reactive’ are anagrams of each other. This is no coincidence. It is like a toggle switch within the perceptive apparatus of your being. Set to ‘reactive’ mode, the world comes at you like a never-ending calamity, and your time is spent dealing with details seemingly not of your choosing. Settled within ‘creative’ mode however, the world unfolds before you, as you invest your time in choosing the framework of creative experiences for your own personal growth.
“Your challenge is to out-create the ‘reality engineers.’
“There are those who would inveigle themselves into every lifescape of your design, attempting to set their own agendas– to which they would have you react. It is strongly encouraged that you refuse their offers… and go your own way… together– as creators.
“This is not new to you; it has been presented to you many times before. Why do you keep sliding back into the reactive mode? I will give you a suggestion: the very deepest of your generational programming is centred around a fixation on hero-worship. Whether you realize it or not, you are forever seeking and awaiting the hero– and that hero is invariably perceived as residing outside of yourselves. Hero-worship distorts your perception of love… and leaves you seeking out the impossible.
“Think on this. Hero-worship absolutely will not save you!”
I agree. More on that soon…
