Diamonds ‘n Pig Shit

by nielskunze on September 9, 2011

Hanging out on the bottom of
Someone else’s shoe
A worm in the beak, a bird’s eye view
Of a village gone mad
A generation that’s suddenly out
Of values or of passion
Anonymous soldiers with caviar rations
And a pound of brie… (gone bad).

But stop! Hold on! Who needs diamonds anyway
When they’re buried six feet deep?

Knee deep in pig shit; there’s bacon in the pan
We’ll sell you anything; just you understand
There’s nothing left here; abused we’re all used up
And diamonds are just yesterdays, fallen from a broken cup

Standing on dirty street corners now
Waiting for the apocalypse
Sucking up dough with red ruby painted lips
Choking it down— turning it around.
And if this world’s bent on fucking us
I tell you that we’ll fuck it first
Better is still nothing if I still got it worst
Giving up ground— I’m going down…

But stop!
