We’re all very familiar with Squirrel’s chatty and downright twitchy ways. Would you believe me if I told you that he wouldn’t hold still for the camera? Sitka loves him anyway.

I hope that you can appreciate this song offering, for there aren’t that many serious songs about squirrels out there. I had to reach so far back into my brain to retrieve this one that I think I dislocated a shoulder! ’66 was the year I was born. I see this song as paving the way for Black Sabbath’s debut in 1970 which also featured the interplay of electric guitar and harmonica.

Anywho… Between Squirrel and Raven, all the Forest news and gossip is passed around from tree to tree at 343 metres per second. They don’t let you get away with nothin’ out there!

Here, Sitka uncovered a cache in the moss. She kept thrusting her nose into the entrance and pulling out great horking gobs of Usnea and leaves. Usnea is that black or green stuff that hangs from the dead branches of trees.

Yeah, that’s the stuff! (It has anti-microbial properties and supports immune function.)

Anyway, Squirrel is a gemini… or perhaps bi-polar. You’d think with all the time he spends on preparedness that he’d be about the most chill of the Forest rodents. Honestly, he’s a bit of a twit!

So are your underground bunkers well stocked? What, no bunkers? Okay, it’s not likely to be that severe anyway… but just realize that the Slow Apocalypse is bearing down right now for a major movement! Unplug the fan, and tell the monkeys to keep their hands in their pockets; it still might get messy! But who’ll notice when all the kids’ faces are covered in chocolate anyway!
