The Daily Forest Report April 17, 2014 The Call of the Quest and the Dinosaur Egg

Look, I said it was getting mythic; I wasn’t kidding.

Our ongoing avian theme was maintained by the pair of geese from last week. Everything seems to come as a reinforcement now… We’re on the right track; we just have to make the breakthrough. (For the record, we did not encounter Eagle or Vulture this day… but Goose’ll do.)

I know it’s hard to see him here, but Goose was honking like a drunk caught in traffic when we got down to the river. This boisterous pair were shouting equal measures of warning and encouragement. They know the true proportions of what’s going on this month!

And just in case there was any lingering doubt, Sitka managed to come up with another fish encased in ice a few minutes later. I really don’t know how she does it!

Our traditional Mother Goose stories have run their course. Like the river which overran its banks several times last year, we’re called upon to cut new channels and write brand new scripts to take us into this burgeoning spring.

I was excited to add a new flavour to this year’s early harvest as Wild Tarragon re-emerged on the Mesa. It’s exotic and delicious, a true inspiration!

It’s tempting to look backwards, over our shoulders, but wouldn’t it be better if the immediate future wasn’t so damn predictable? Goose asks “Can’t your imaginations come up with something better?” Indeed, what new recipe’s for futures undreamed might we now come up with?

Man, I tell ya, when this dinosaur egg hatches… woah, look out, all bets are off! I’m hoping for Dragon or Pterodactyl. All the giant birds have left quite an impression on me. I’d like to join them in the sky now please!

Have I gone too far? Am I too far gone? Not hardly! We’re shocked and outraged and really quite disbelieving when terrible things manifest… but when it comes to calling forth the outrageous good… who will proclaim such latent possibilities if not me? You? Yes please!
