The Daily Forest Report April 13, 2014 The Clear Illumination of Spirit
by nielskunze on April 13, 2014
Okay, this follows directly on the heels of yesterday’s Report… it’s like the followup. But first, let’s start with a song I’ve selected for its insightful lyrical content.
(Just a Game by Triumph from their 1979 album of the same name)
Unless you’re Canadian, you probably haven’t heard of Canada’s other power rock trio. While Rush was exploring epic arrangements with odd time signatures, Triumph was taking an altogether more straight ahead rock approach. Both bands were flourishing during the late seventies and early eighties when music in general was being severely dumbed down by the insinuation of disco, punk and new wave.
Now, onto the startling significance of all which transpired in the woods…
Before we reach the swamp, there’s a definitive corner which the path must round, and there’s no way to know in advance what’s going to be around that corner. I always proceed with an air of anticipation. This time however, our approach was deftly foreshadowed by a large bird of prey waiting for us before the turn who flew from its perch beside our path to the other side of the swamp… around the corner.
It happened so fast I was swearing to myself because I’d missed it. “What was that?” Fortunately, Bald Eagle was there just around the corner waiting for us in the most obvious place possible.
I grabbed the binoculars to get a good closeup look to confirm that it indeed was a Bald Eagle. As I began filming I said aloud “Fly for me,” and well…
I always get excited by eagle visitations, especially when they seem very direct and deliberate, not at all coincidental. Eagle was there for us, no doubt. When discerning animal symbolism, we are reminded to consider the symbology of the prey animals on which the predators feed as well. It wasn’t more than two minutes after our encounter with the eagle that Sitka came up with a mouse… again… but this time she made no mistake and swiftly killed it.
Yesterday’s post had us pursuing and mortally wounding the Devil himself (as represented by mouse). This time he was unable to slip back into the tangled shadows of the long grass. And just to make sure, Sitka soon went about the dismembering. (I stopped filming as it got a bit macabre.)
What’s interesting is that just prior to this incident in the woods, I was contemplating the recent announcement that the US had once again decided to reject the proposed banking reforms at the IMF which would allow other countries, especially the BRICS alliance, to have a fairer say in global financing matters. The US was belligerently refusing to concede one iota of their hegemonic control. Additionally, my mind was flitting upon the standoff in Nevada between the Feds and a crapload of pissed-off patriots… (If you only consult the lamestream media, you may have missed this watershed story entirely. CNN doesn’t cover news in which the government comes off looking stupid unless it’s to cover up and distract from something even stupider.)
The eagle, especially Bald Eagle, has long been a symbol for the US. With its clear connection to spirit, it certainly doesn’t represent the the recalcitrant oligarchs of Earth’s most terrifying nation. It is the soaring spirit of the people… reawakened. After our encounter I was fully expecting to come home to some good news in terms of a victory for the people over oppressive forces… which is exactly what occurred in Nevada.
And just to reinforce the significance of our encounter, Sitka very shortly came up with another favourite prey animal of Eagle once we got down to the river. I honestly don’t know how she comes up with these things.
The momentum is now on the side of the good. The devilish masks are dropping… rapidly. Stay tuned as freedom springs!
