A Discussion With Martin

Martin: Will there be a third book in the Muse trilogy as originally planned?
Niels: That depends on us both. If we can continue to view Life as an unfathomable Mystery and yet still find the inspiration to try and solve that unbreakable Code, if we continue to change and to grow— to transform, then yes, of course, there will always be more to write about. But if we stop, stagnate and grow content with the “conclusions” we’ve reached, then what would be the point? If it’s just a rehashing of all that’s gone before— same shit, different pile— then it doesn’t serve Life’s purpose. Our experience must reach out into uncharted territory, so that we can adapt ourselves to the new, undreamed Possibilities. Our experiences are our stories; and the stories transform the characters. It is this interaction with Life as life which enables Life to change and to grow, and ultimately to know Itself. People are afraid of change because they’re afraid of changing into something other than people. I am no longer afraid to shed this human form. I think we are both prepared to go wherever the Journey may lead. So yes, I anticipate that there will indeed be a third book.
Martin: What will it be called?
Niels: That I will answer. Just don’t ask me when it might be finished. It’ll be called Liquid Immortal: The Seed of God.
