The Daily Forest Report (Sort of) November 13, 2013 We Knew We Were Stars… But Not How to Shine

by nielskunze on November 13, 2013

Perhaps some or many of my readers have figured out that my usual routine was interrupted this past week. I haven’t actually been to the forest since last Wednesday. Instead I was on the road… reuniting with a special subsection of my Soul Family.

Throughout the late nineties and into the new millennium I was a member of an incredible original rock band called Missing Peace. This weekend marked the fortieth birthday of our lead singer Shane, and so we gathered at his place on Vancouver Island to celebrate and reconnect. It was remarkably fantastic!

Vancouver Island is about a thousand miles away from where I live in BC… and we made the trek by car (Cory– lead guitar and me– rhythm guitar). Our bass player Ian lives on the Island too and met up with us for the weekend. Other longtime friends from the band days also attended. The only one missing was our drummer Chris.

Why am I sharing all this? It’s about deep reconnections. The feeling of home and family was overwhelming at times. The phrase “I love you” was uttered so many times amongst us that no one could’ve kept count. And it felt very much like this was a microcosm of things about to unfold at a global scale. I think I’m offering a heads-up for something wonderful which is about to commence.

Despite the chaos raging in the world, we are being brought back together with the ones who support our journeys and missions in this beautiful realm. My only advice is to keep your hearts open and just allow the reconnections to occur. I felt invincible this weekend; and now that I’m back home, it has carried forward and I feel that it will not abate… we are immortal after all.

Now I’d like to offer the following pre-release from our forthcoming album which has been thirteen years in “production.”

This song is one of mine called “Whitman’s Gauntlet.” It was originally written into my first book, The Thousand-Petalled Lotus. I hope all can feel the loving intentions standing behind and within it.

Today I will return to my usual routine, heading back into the forest again. I can’t wait to catch up with that other subsection of my Soul Family– the creatures of the forest. Please journey along in whatever way you are able. Awesomeness awaits somewhere along this path into winter…
