Fog is magical. It shrinks the world.

It is the closed curtain standing before the great “Ta-da!” Who or what stands behind this reality? Can you find yourself through the fog?

Hiding a mountain… child’s play! But what comes to the foreground? What hides in plain sight? Onion. Wild Onion has been shouting at me… announcing itself everywhere. By now I’ve eaten over 700 Wild Onions– without ever leaving the trail! As the ground slowly begins to freeze, my onion-digging days are coming to an end… but not before they announce themselves with shocking clarity to the refinements of my perception.

“Layers and embryos…” is all they’ll say. But I get it. Just when I thought there couldn’t possibly be any more layers of old decaying growth to peel and discard, illusions still drop at my feet. Oh how I’ve been buried!

I dig and I peel… getting down to that which is embryonic– the new growth awaiting tomorrow’s fare conditions. Imbued with life, I wander these hills as Onion-Man Fog-Eater.

Breathing magick with every breath… eating magick, whose taste still lingers. Who knew that the Fog might speak? I suspected…

“Close your eyes.” I did. “What do you see?” Throughout my life I have always known that what I see when I close my eyes is different from what most people see. I don’t see darkness or a blank slate. No, I see a riotous kaleidoscope of layered shifting patterns in storms of activity. If I lend my attention to the closed-eye light show I can easily become mesmerized.

“Notice that the tumult has died down considerably.” Holy crap! It’s true; there is far less activity playing out on the screen of my inner eyelid! “What was ‘written’ there has brought you through to this culmination. You will begin now to write the new codes of your perception. The old codes are obsolete.

“Enjoy the peace and the calm… as the codes of calamity burn off in the mist. Abide in the depth of your own inner eye.”
