Without a word spoken or heard, many a conversation has blossomed in our shared cognitive space over decades. Rather than drawing from excerpts or pointers from the past, I&#8217;ve chosen to iterate my standing among the trees with a little poem&#8211; that rhymes, and therefore, must be silly.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.nielskunze.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Whole-Punch.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.nielskunze.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Whole-Punch-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"Whole Punch\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-4356\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blog.nielskunze.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Whole-Punch-1024x576.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/blog.nielskunze.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Whole-Punch-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>If Not For the Company of Trees<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Where might I be<br \/>\nif not for the company of trees?<\/p>\n<p>Bound to the ground,<br \/>\nthere are thoughts I have found,<br \/>\nThat can\u2019t rightly be thunk<br \/>\nwithout head against trunk,<br \/>\nReaching sun-dappled rumination&#8211;<br \/>\nthese musings like leaves,<br \/>\ncascades in the breeze&#8211;<br \/>\nEach seeks its own illumination.<br \/>\nTrees stand like prayers,<br \/>\nmetaphorical stairs,<br \/>\nAnd as masters of longterm and timing;<br \/>\nWhen \u2018speaking\u2019 takes place,<br \/>\nIt\u2019s more a holding of space,<br \/>\nSo that wee creatures can go on still climbing&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Where might I be<br \/>\nif not for the company of trees?<\/p>\n<p>Where indeed? None the wiser,<br \/>\na secret despiser&#8211;<br \/>\nThis miserly life:<br \/>\nTreeless&#8230;<br \/>\nInsanity!<br \/>\nNo-Sir-ee! Not for me!<br \/>\nA life without trees<br \/>\ncannot be,<br \/>\nFor my thoughts intertwine<br \/>\nin their canopy&#8230;<br \/>\nAnd that\u2019s sanity:<br \/>\nConnected and directed<br \/>\ninwardly,<br \/>\nThrough the Life we all share<br \/>\nin envious stares,<br \/>\nSeeing the Beauty in others<br \/>\nAnd touching that place<br \/>\nin ourselves&#8230;<br \/>\nAnd we shudder&#8230;<br \/>\nYou might think me mad<br \/>\nFor all the pleasure I\u2019ve had<br \/>\nSnug in the company of trees.<br \/>\nWe should all be so lonely<br \/>\nwith our true one-and-only&#8211;<br \/>\nThis Forest scenting the breeze!<\/p>\n<p>_________________________________________<\/p>\n<p>Please join the discussion at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/mysticalmasters\/\">Mystical Masters Facebook group<\/a>. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our topic this week was Trees and Rain Forests.
